Motus-Rehabilitation
At Motus Center,
we recognize that the musculoskeletal, physiological, and performance
parameters of sports and dance activities are different and peculiar
from those of daily life. Therefore, both athletes and dancers require
specialized rehabilitation programs to quickly return them to a
high level of function. Motus-Rehabilitation
offers athletes, dancers and other physically active individuals
a variety of treatment programs allowing them to return them to
full function and performance in an efficient and expedient manner.
Motus-Rehabilitation
departs from the traditional outpatient rehabilitation model to
provide our active patient population with a sports/dance medicine
program that meets their needs and allows for multiple points of
entry into the care process.
Since the most
commonly treated injuries in our clinics are musculoskeletal and
"athletic" related, the Licensed/Certified Athletic Trainer
plays a principal role in Motus-Rehabilitation's
clinical care team to best serve the distinct health care needs
of our active patients along the care continuum. Experienced physical
therapists, conditioning specialists, and clinical massage-therapists
working in conjunction with our athletic trainers further enhance
and ensure the highest quality of care for our patients. Our clinical
staff's knowledge of and experience with sports and dance improves
communication with patients and their physicians facilitating a
more dynamic and effective treatment program.
For the 'industrial-athlete',
Motus-Rehabilitation offers
area companies a cost-effective occupational medicine program based
on the success of our athletic-healthcare model. Program benefits
include reduction in time-loss injuries, improved productivity,
significant savings on worker compensation/healthcare costs, and
increased employee satisfaction.
The quality
and success of Motus-Rehabilitation,
along with Motus-Care and Motus-Fitness,
has quickly established Motus Center as a leader in sports medicine
and the premiere dance medicine provider in North Texas.
Motus-Rehabilitation

Aquatic
Therapy |
| |
Conducted
in the pool, aquatic therapy provides a weightless environment
so that mobility, strengthening, and endurance exercises can
be performed at an earlier stage while minimizing joint stress,
swelling, and improving movement quality and function.
When the patient is ready, specialized group-programs such
as Aqua-Sports and Aqua-Barre
further improve functional outcomes and minimize
recovery time.

Pilates-based
Rehabilitation |
| |
This
system of adapted neuromuscular exercises effectively develops
and emphasizes coordination of the extremities and trunk with
core musculature resulting in improved mechanics and movement
efficiency. When performed on the 'Reformer' and related apparatuses,
patients are able to begin functional exercises early in their
care while minimizing joint stress and discomfort.
Known to be effective by dancers since the 1950's, top-athletes
around the world have begun to successfully integrate this
exercise system into their regular training routine to prevent
and recondition injuries and improve performance.

Post-Rehab
Program |
| |
Today's
health insurance plans often limit the allowed treatment sessions
for a given injury, as well as often require patients to attain
treatment from providers with limited knowledge in their sport
or dance activity.
The Post-Rehab Program offers athletes and dancers a personalized,
progressed exercise program designed and supervised by experienced
conditioning specialists. Programs are designed to bridge
the gap between a functional return to daily activities and
the demands of the clients' sports or dance activity. The
risk of re-injury is minimized while the individual transitions
to full dance or sports participation.
